Comments:

I purchased this bike about two months ago from the local trek store. I have used it to commute around town and ride some of the trails New Mexico has to offer. I've done some easy trails as well as some moderate downhill and single track. The components are entry level but have done very well in both situations. The one thing I changed right away was the front fork. I'm 6'0 and 230 lbs. The suntour fork felt bouncy on the trails and would bottom out easily under my weight. All in all for a "sports" mountain bike I'm very satisfied with my purchase. I would definately recommend to a friend.

Worst Bike I Have Owned

Comments:

This is the worst bike I have ever owned. The AT-550 wheels are terrible. I've had to have the LBS true them and now I have a broken spoke. These are single walled rims on a mountain bike. Why??? Also, the forks stink as well. I guess I'm going to need to do something about these rims to even think about riding it. Not happy. :-(

    Comments:

I have had this bike a year now. I am a larger guy 6'2" and 250lbs. I bought this bike and started biking 5 miles to and from work and riding it off road on the weekends. The brakes have not been able to stop me twice when going down some steeper inclines in town. I replaced the brake pads but with no fix. I ended up upgrading to hydraulic brakes which also required a shifter change but over all I do like the bike. I would recommend this bike with the stipulation that if you are a bigger guy please consider upgrading the brakes first with something with bigger brake pads. It is not any fun flying out in traffic. Trek customer service has been awesome.

I use this bike daily for a 15 mile pick me up in the mornings. For the price I received much more than I expected. It rides and shifts super smooth, small to medium bumps may as well not exist. My one real issue is it seems the front fork is a little soft. Other than that I couldn't be happier!

My main use for this bike is recreation and exercise. Very stylish, great suspension, smooth ride The only slightly bad thing about the bike is the uncomfortable seat, but you will get used to it after a few rides and padded shorts/pants help a lot. Overall great bike, would recommend to anyone wanting to get into cycling

I do not even know where to start! For the price you get a great bike that isn't as heavy as other bikes in this price range. I had a Specialized Myka before and absolutely hated it! I am so in love with this Trek. It handles very well on the trails and is a fast bike.

Ride at will! I rode this beauty back from the shop and enjoyed every minute of it. Maiden voyage was 15 miles, and this rig rolls! Light, FAST, and Durable. Very well made. This Trek ate everything I could throw at it including curbs and drop offs. This is a great entry 29er you can modify as your skills progress. Part of the fun is adding components and optimizing it for you. That said, this bike is good to go as is. I agree that it could use double walled rims, but bang for buck, this is it. Very smooth ride, good feedback, and G2 geometry handles like a dream. Double thumbs up! One for the bike and one for the guys at Cyclists Choice Gulfport, MS.
